INCREDIBLE SEASON 4 MOMENTS: SIKANDAR RAZA SEALS WIN WITH LAST-BALL SIX

The modern T20 player’s barometer is no longer purely the number of runs scored or wickets taken. It is about the impact a player can make on any given match.

This relates to a five-ball cameo, a wicket-maiden over, or simply a spectacular catch that changes the momentum of the match.

Utilising this metric, we’ve looked past the traditional milestones of centuries and five-wicket hauls and selected a list of “Incredible Moments” from Betway SA20 Season 4 in this new series.

SIKANDAR RAZA SEALS DRAMATIC LAST-BALL VICTORY WITH A SIX

Paarl Royals vs Durban’s Super Giants | 13 January 2026 | Boland Park

Zimbabwean international Sikandar Raza cemented his place in Paarl Royals folklore by dispatching David Wiese over the square-leg boundary for a match-winning six.

The hit capped off a record-breaking run chase and secured a dramatic six-wicket victory over Durban’s Super Giants, rewriting the history books of the SA20 at Paarl.

Sent in to bat by Paarl captain David Miller, the Super Giants constructed what appeared to be a match-winning total of 186/5. The innings was anchored by captain Aiden Markram’s disciplined 66 off 46 balls and propelled by a late, aggressive cameo from Liam Livingstone, who struck an unbeaten 32 off just 10 deliveries.

Historically, chasing 187 at Boland Park was uncharted territory; the previous highest successful second-innings chase at the venue was 176.

The Royals' response was kept on track by a critical 106-run third-wicket partnership between Dan Lawrence (63) and Rubin Hermann (65*). However, the dismissal of Lawrence and Miller in quick succession left the home side facing a steep climb in the final overs.

When Wiese stepped up to bowl the final over, the mathematics were simple: the Royals required six runs off six balls. Wiese’s experience showed as he constricted the batters, bringing the equation down to two runs required from the final delivery.

With the field closed in, Wiese missed his yorker length, serving up a full toss. Raza did not hesitate. Moving across his crease, he swept the delivery over the square-leg rope, triggering scenes of absolute delirium within Boland Park.

Raza’s brief but decisive cameo of 27* off 13 balls (including two fours and two sixes) proved to be the difference-maker in a contest of razor-thin margins.

"There can't be many sweeter feelings for a cricketer than hitting the last ball for six to win the match," he said.
