INCREDIBLE SEASON 4 MOMENTS: DIAN FORRESTER’S BULLRING BREAKOUT

The modern T20 player’s barometer is no longer purely the number of runs scored or wickets taken. It is about the impact a player can make on any given match.

This relates to a five-ball cameo, a wicket-maiden over, or simply a spectacular catch that changes the momentum of the match.

Utilising this metric, we’ve looked past the traditional milestones of centuries and five-wicket hauls and selected a list of “Incredible Moments” from Betway SA20 Season 4 in this new series.

SEASON 4 INCREDIBLE MOMENT 9

DIAN FORRESTER’S BREAKOUT BULLRING PERFORMANCE

Joburg Super Kings vs MI Cape Town | 10 January 2026 | Wanderers

Ryan Rickelton returned to a happy hunting ground and blasted his second century of the season - the first batter in Betway SA20 history to achieve this feat - powering MI Cape Town to a mammoth 234/3.

Joburg Super Kings were soon in all sorts of trouble, with both captain Faf du Plessis and Wiaan Mulder being dismissed for ducks to leave the home side reeling at 43/3 after the Powerplay.

An early night was on the cards for everyone at the Bullring until young Dian Forrester arrived at the crease. The left-hander had been on the sidelines in the first three seasons and was desperate to show his worth at this level.

He did not need a second chance. The 25-year-old all-rounder took no notice of the scoreboard, the target, or the intimidating bowling attack starring Kagiso Rabada, Rashid Khan, and Trent Boult. He just played each ball on its merit.

With a seasoned partner in Englishman James Vince at the other end for guidance, the freshman combined brute force with flawless placement, unleashing a counter-attack that yielded an unbeaten 80* off only 42 balls (4x4, 5x6, SR 190.47).

The ripple effects were immense, with Forrester's fearless display at the Bullring propelling him into the Proteas T20I squad for the tour to New Zealand just two months later.

Likewise, his signature on the T20 circuit became one of the hottest commodities, earning him stints with Kent in England’s T20 Blast, Rawalpindiz in the PSL, and an emergency call-up to the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
