FROM BREVIS X-FACTOR TO MILLER-TIME: THE COMPLETE LIST OF BETWAY SA20 SOUTH AFRICAN STARS AT IPL 2026

The Indian Premier League is back, and the 2026 season features a historic footprint of South African talent.

There are 22* Betway SA20 South African stars spread across eight of the 10 franchises, with South Africa boasting the highest overseas representation outside the host nation.

From seasoned match-winners to the next generation of explosive talent, a host of South Africans will be looking to light up the 2026 IPL.

Durban’s Super Giants captain Aiden Markram returns to Lucknow Super Giants where his leadership skills along with explosive batting at the top of the order and highly effective part-time spin will be a trifactor. He is joined by Sunrisers Eastern Cape duo Matthew Breetzke and Anrich Nortje.

Delhi Capitals have secured a dream finishing duo with the experienced David Miller joining Sunrisers Eastern Cape captain Tristan Stubbs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. In-form seam bowler Lungi Ngidi is also with the Capitals.

After hugely successful Betway SA20 Season 4, finishing as the competition’s top run-scorer, Quinton de Kock returns to Mumbai Indians for a second stint at the five-time IPL winners.

De Kock will be competing with his Proteas teammate and fellow wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton, while allrounder Corbin Bosch also returns to the Wankhede Stadium.

The Rajasthan Royals have invested heavily in youth. Kwena Maphaka's raw left-arm pace and Lhuan-dre Pretorius's exciting batting potential will be closely monitored at the Royals.

Fellow left-arm seamer Nandre Burger is also back at the Royals along with the big-hitting Donovan Ferreira, who has recovered from the injury which ruled him out of the T20 World Cup.

Dewald Brevis will bring his ‘X-factor’ to the Chennai Super Kings once again after being a replacement player last season, and a close eye will certainly be kept on the young dynamo after his exploits in Betway SA20 Season for the Pretoria Capitals.

Allrounder Marco Jansen also returns to the Punjab Kings, who will count on his devastating left-arm swing bowling and highly capable lower-order hitting.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will also be pinning their hopes on big-money signing Heinrich Klaasen to repay their investment at IPL 2026.

Last, but certainly not least, Kagiso Rabada will be eager to put a disappointing T20 World Cup behind him at the Gujarat Titans and remind everyone why he remains one of the premier fast bowlers in the world.
