JSK LURE MAHEESH THEEKSHANA BACK FOR SEASON 3

Sri Lankan mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana is set to return to the Joburg Super Kings for Betway SA20 Season 3.

Theekshana was part of the Super Kings squad during the inaugural season but missed out last season due to international commitments.

The 24-year-old is one of the most prolific T20 bowlers in the world, ranked No 9 on the official ICC Men’s T20 bowling card.

Being taller than the average spinner allows Theekshana to gain extra bounce from the Wanderers surface.

He also possesses all the tricks of the trade which includes Carrom balls, sliders and even the spinner’s version of the knuckleball.

These qualities saw Theekshana claim seven wickets in seven matches, with a best of 3/30, and at an average of 26.57 per wicket in Betway SA20 Season 1. He was particularly miserly too, boasting an economy of just 6.88.

Theekshana quickly developed into a fan favourite at The Wanderers with his unique bow-and-arrow celebration enjoying a major following at the Bullring.

Theekshana also enjoys a good relationship with JSK head coach Stephen Fleming after playing under the New Zealand tactician at the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League the past two seasons.
