CENTURION MY FAVOURITE GROUND TO BAT ON, SAYS JACKS AFTER BLISTERING TON

Pretoria Capitals’ Will Jacks lit up Centurion with the third century of the Betway SA20 Season 2 on Thursday.

Jacks blasted 101 off just 42 balls, which included eight boundaries and nine maximums as helped power the Capitals to an imposing 204/9 against Durban’s Super Giants.

The Capitals opener was in superb form from the outset, as he dominated a 75-run first wicket partnership with Phil Salt off just 5.2 overs.

But even after Salt departed for 23 off 13 deliveries, Jacks maintained the momentum.

He required only 23 balls to bring up his 50 (3x4, 5x6) before needing just a further 18 deliveries to raise his bat for a superb century.

Jacks’ previous SA20 best was 92 against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape last season.

"It was great fun. Probably my favourite ground to bat on. The ball really flies here," Jacks said.

It was the third century of Season 2 following on from MI Cape Town’s Rassie van der Dussen’s 104 off 50 balls against the Joburg Super Kings.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s Jordan Hermann also struck a brilliant 106 not out against MI Cape Town at Newlands earlier in the week.

It is the second consecutive match Jacks also offered up a Betway Catch 2 Million chance in the crowd, which was taken by George van Heerden.

Van Heerden will currently share the prize money with Jochen Grobler, who claimed the first one-handed catch last week.

"It brings an extra edge. It is quite nice feeling that both have come off my bat. I think I need a cut!" Jacks said.
