BETWAY SA20 STARS TO WATCH IN CSA T20 CHALLENGE SEMI-FINALS

The CSA T20 Challenge semi-finals are about to get underway this week.

The Lions host Titans at the Wanderers on Wednesday before the Dolphins face off against the Warriors at Kingsmead on Thursday.

We take a closer look at six Betway SA20 stars that could light up the contests.

RYAN RICKELTON (Lions and MI Cape Town)

There is no need to look any further than the MI Cape Town opener. Rickelton has continued his Betway SA20 Season 2 form for the Lions and will be eager to show that he can also perform in a high-pressure game like a semi-final in a bid to enhance his chances of boarding the Proteas plane set for the ICC T20 World Cup in the US and Caribbean later this year.

LUNGI NGIDI (Titans and Paarl Royals)

The experienced seamer would previously have been an automatic choice for the T20 World Cup, but a combination of injuries and lack of form has put his place in jeopardy. Ngidi has given the IPL a skip this season in order to secure game time at the Titans and he is slowly finding his rhythm again. A big performance in the semi-final from the Paarl Royals seamer could just be the reminder to Proteas white-ball coach Rob Walter that he cannot leave Ngidi behind.

WIAAN MULDER (Lions and Durban's Super Giants)

The versatile all-rounder has been a model of consistency since the Betway SA20 Season 2. Whenever required with either bat or ball, Mulder has delivered when his team needed him most. He faces a battle for the hotly contested all-rounder spot in the Proteas squad and like the others could swing the vote his way with a game-changing performance in the semi-final.

SIBONELO MAKHANYA (Titans and Joburg Super Kings)

The dashing Joburg Super Kings right-hander has been superb for the Titans in the CSA T20 Challenge. He has certainly enjoyed being relieved of the captaincy responsibilities and has played with a great deal of freedom this campaign. One of the leading run-scorers in the competition, the Titans will be hoping Makhanya can continue this rich vein of form in the playoffs.

JORDAN HERMANN (Warriors and Sunrisers Eastern Cape)

The highly-talented batter is the cornerstone along with his captain and DSG star Matthew Breetzke that the Warriors batting revolves around. He showed his talent in the Betway SA20 with a sparkling century at Newlands for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and would like nothing more than a repeat of that performance at Kingsmead.

DARYN DUPAVILLON (Dolphins and Pretoria Capitals)

The right-arm seamer has hit the ground running at just the right time for the Dolphins. Tall and lanky, Dupavillon bowls at good pace but has the added ability to reverse swing the ball which makes him a dangerous asset to any team he plays for. He claimed a career-best 5/20 in the last game and will be running in full of confidence in the semi-final.
