BETWAY SA20 STARS PRIMED TO STAR IN THE HUNDRED SEASON 4

The fourth edition of The Hundred in England is set to get underway today at The Oval.

The Oval Invincibles will face off against the Birmingham Phoenix in the Men’s opening game.

The remaining six teams in the competition are London Spirit, Manchester Originals, Northern Superchargers, Southern Brave, Trent Rockets and Welsh Fire.

Unlike Twenty20 cricket where a match consists of 20 overs per innings, consisting of six balls per over, this competition has been simplified.

Each team is allocated with 100 balls per team, and the team that manages to score the most runs wins.

Five bowlers can bowl up to 20 balls in an innings, including five or 10 in a row. Ten balls are required to be bowled before there is a change of ends.

The powerplay is for the first 25 balls of an innings with only two fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle - unlike in T20 cricket where the powerplay is the first six overs (30 balls) of each innings.

The Invincibles and Phoenix will feature a host of Betway SA20 stars in today’s opener. The Invincibles are littered with players all through their squad with MI Cape Town all-rounder Sam Curran, who is fresh off a maiden T20 century in the T20 Blast last week, leading the way.

Pretoria Capitals Will Jacks, who has also been in fine touch, will form a solid top-order partnership with Sunrisers Eastern Cape opener Dawid Malan. They will have further firepower down the order with Joburg Super Kings “finisher” Donovan Ferreira set to bring the pyrotechnics.
