WHO TOPS BETWAY SA20'S ALL-TIME RUN CHART?
If runs are the 'currency' by which batters are judged by, there'd be few surprises about who'd fetch the most money if an auction of all Betway SA20 players took place tomorrow...
The man who tops the list of run scorers after two seasons of the League is arguably the most valuable batter in all of T20 cricket, particularly for his exploits over the last two years - Heinrich Klaasen, of course.
The Durban's Super Giants (and Proteas) star has helped himself to 810 runs in South Africa's premier T20 cricket league to date. Most impressively, perhaps, 'Klaasie' has smashed those runs at a strike rate of 186.20 and averages 50.62 in 22 matches.
The 32-year-old has also passed 50 on eight occasions - the most by any batter in the League's short history - with high score of 104* being one of only seven centuries scored so far.
While Klaasen, who has batted in the middle-order in both seasons of SA's premier T20 league, tops the charts it's the openers who are most prominent in the top 10.
Paarl Royals' Jos Buttler, who's only 11 runs behind Klaasen on 799, leads six of them. The England white-ball captain's consistency at the top of the order is remarkable considering the fact that he's also SA20's leading gloveman.

Just like Klaasen, Buttler has scored seven 50s, but has yet to pass the hundred-mark with high-scoring at his Boland Park home ground being at a premium.
Ryan Rickelton, meanwhile, become the first player to score 500 runs in a season during the 2024 edition of League [CLICK HERE to see his best shots] and it duly shot him up to third place on the 'all-time' run scorers list - 676 runs - and secured him a place in the Proteas squad for the just-finished T20 World Cup. 'Ricks' is also, alongside Rassie van der Dussen, the holder of the partnership record in the League - an opening stand of 200 the MI Cape Town pair accumulated against Joburg Super Kings.
The rest of the top 10 features Joburg Super Kings' Leus du Plooy (626 runs) and his captain Faf du Plessis (608 runs) who formed a season-changing opening combination at the back end of Season 2; the aforementioned Van der Dussen (571 runs); two more Durban's Super Giants players in Matthew Breetzke (541 runs) who came into his own as an opener and middle-order Jon-Jon Smuts (500 runs); Pretoria Capitals' opener Will Jacks (515 runs) and Sunrisers Eastern Cape's Tristan Stubbs (491 runs) - the only out-and-out 'finisher' completes the list.
