FERREIRA INNINGS INVALUABLE IN OVAL INVINCIBLES' LOW-SCORING WIN

Joburg Super Kings’ Donovan Ferreira struck an invaluable 30 off 23 balls to maintain the Oval Invincibles’ unbeaten start to The Hundred in a low-scoring affair against the Welsh Fire.

The Invincibles lost both fellow Betway SA20 stars Will Jacks (Pretoria Capitals) and Dawid Malan (Sunrisers Eastern Cape) early on for the defending champions to find themselves in deep trouble.

Ferreira and MI Cape Town all-rounder Sam Curran (20 off 21 balls) then started the rebuilding job with a 46-run partnership for the fifth Invincibles wicket.

Unfortunately for the Invincibles, the pair fell within quick succession of each other as they scrambled up to 113/9 off their 100 balls.

It proved to be sufficient on the night though as the Invincibles delivered an energetic display in the field.

Curran completed a good all-round match with figures of 2/25 with the ball, while Australian leg-spinner delivered figures of 3/24 to restrict the Welsh Fire to 103/8.

Zampa was named Player of the Match for the second match in succession.
