ENGLAND PLACE T20 WORLD CUP TRUST IN BETWAY SA20 STARS
Paarl Royals opener Jos Buttler will lead an England squad featuring nine Betway SA20-signed stars as they attempt to regain the ICC T20 World Cup title in the West Indies and United States of America.
Buttler, SA20’s leading run-scorer across the two seasons to date, retains the leadership role he has had since mid-2022, a few months before he led them to T20 glory in Australia.
Quick bowler Jofra Archer has recovered from the right elbow injury which kept him out of SA20 Season 2 and is one of three MI Cape Town-aligned players in the 15-man squad. He is joined by all-rounders Sam Curran (the 2022 player of the tournament) and Liam Livingstone.
Pretoria Capitals, who like MICT also missed the 2024 SA20 playoffs, similarly supply three members to the English cause.
Will Jacks’ swashbuckling batting in both SA20 and the ongoing IPL secured his spot on the plane headed West, and the 25-year-old will be joined by his Capitals opening partner Phil Salt as well as experienced leg-spinner Adil Rashid.

Joburg Super Kings’ Moeen Ali will add further experience with his off-spinners and big-hitting, while Durban’s Super Giants left-armer Reece Topley will be hoping for better luck after injury saw him withdrawn from England’s squad at both the 2022 T20 World Cup and last year’s 50-over showpiece in India.
England, who are in Group B alongside Australia, Namibia, Scotland and Oman, will play their fixtures in Barbados and Antigua.
