BETWAY SA20 SEASON 2 FINAL: THE DANGERMEN
Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban's Super Giants meet in today's Betway SA20 Final at Newlands.
We take a closer look at who could swing the game in their team’s favour with bat or ball.
DANGERMEN WITH THE BAT
TOM ABELL
RUNS: 231
HS: 65 (43) v Durban's Super Giants
SIXES: 6
Sunrisers have not relied on any one batter to get them this far, but Tom Abell certainly does provide them with the stability at the top to allow the likes of Tristan Stubbs, Marco Jansen and Patrick Kruger to launch later on. The Englishman also bats at a tempo that keeps the scoreboard moving without the opposition realising how much he is actually hurting them. He already has a half-century against DSG this season and would like nothing more than another big contribution in the final.
HEINRICH KLAASEN
RUNS: 447
HS: 85 (35) v MI Cape Town
SIXES: 37
The most explosive T20 batter in world cricket at the moment. Heinrich Klaasen has the potential to win the Final single-handedly for the Super Giants such is his form at the moment. He is the prize wicket and both teams are fully aware of the impact Klaasen may have on the Final. If he fires, it's hard to see Sunrisers stopping DSG from raising the trophy for the first time.
DANGERMEN WITH THE BALL
MARCO JANSEN
WICKETS: 15
BB: 4-16 v Durban's Super Giants
ECON: 7.68
Sunrisers’ beanpole, Marco Jansen, has been back to his belligerent best with both bat and ball in Betway SA20 Season 2. His impact with the new ball and during the middle overs have been a big part of the Sunrisers' success. He was particularly good in Qualifier 1 against DSG when he produced a terrific performance to skittle the Super Giants. He will like nothing more than to repeat it on the grandest stage of all.
JUNIOR DALA
WICKETS: 13
BB: 5-26 v Paarl Royals
ECON: 8.36
A late bloomer in Season 2, Junior Dala has grabbed his chance with both hands once it has been offered. He has regularly been among the wickets and also claimed a maiden Betway SA20 five-for against the Royals to stamp his authority on the tournament. There are few players who give their whole-hearted commitment to the team like Dala and he will surely be charging in at Newlands tonight.
