NAMIBIA BANK ON WIESE EXPERIENCE FOR T20 WORLD CUP

Joburg Super Kings allrounder David Wiese has been included in Namibia’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA.

Wiese will be playing in his fourth T20 showpiece tournament. His first, in 2026 in India, was with his native South Africa’s squad. Thereafter he switched to his father’s birth country and earnt selection in the Eagles's squad for the 2021 edition in the United Arab Emirates and Oman and two years ago in Australia.

The 38-year-old featured in four matches for JSK during Betway SA20 Season 2, but also has experience playing in both countries where the upcoming tournament takes place. In 2021 and 2022, Wiese played for St Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) while last year he was part of the MI New York squad which won the inaugural Major League Cricket (MLC) title in the US.

Namibia, who are in Group B alongside Australia, England, Scotland and Oman, will play their fixtures in Barbados and Antigua.
