MEET DURBAN’S SUPER GIANTS

Durban’s Super Giants enter the SA20 with a talented and experienced squad and they will be looking to lift the inaugural title.

Former Proteas batter Lance Klusener is the coach of Durban’s Super Giants. Klusener was renowned for his aggressive batting style and fans can expect plenty of entertainment from the Durban based franchise. 

Klusener and co have an exciting mix of world-class local and international talent and Quinton de Kock brings plenty of experience and he will be key to his team’s chances of winning the SA20. 

De Kock has played over 280 T20 matches and he has made 8373 runs which includes a highest score of 140* and a strike rate of 137.26 and De Kock smashed an unbeaten 140 off 70 balls for the Lucknow Super Giants in May 2022- the third highest individual score in IPL history. 

Keshav Maharaj is a new addition to Durban’s Super Giants Squad. Maharaj will look to do damage with the ball and his T20 statistics prove that he will be key for his team in the SA20. The Proteas left-arm spinner has made over 120 T20 appearances and he has taken over 100 wickets which includes a strike rate of 25.4 

The West Indies Johnson Charles will bring the Caribbean flair to Durban’s Super Giants and the wicket-keeper batsman has the potential to set the tournament alight and produce fireworks. 

Charles is a muscular player and he has the strength to clear the boundary and he has a winning mentality having won the T20 World Cup with the West Indies in 2012 and 2016. The power hitter has featured in over 200 T20 matches, scoring over 5000 runs with a highest score of 105* and a strike rate of 128.28  The inaugural SA20 league is set to get underway from the 10th of January 2023 and you can purchase your tickets for this cricket spectacle on www.ticketpros.co.za from the 14th of November. 

Durban’s Super Giants get their SA20 campaign underway with a home clash against Faf du Plessis Joburg Super Kings at Kingsmead in Durban on the 11th of January 2023.
