MAHARAJ ADDS TO DSG-LSG CROSSOVER

Durban's Super Giants captain Keshav Maharaj is joining the contingent of Betway SA20-signed players headed to the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL).

The 34-year-old will maintain his Super Giants connections, by training with the Lucknow Super Giants (DSG's sister franchise) for the duration of the 17th edition of IPL, but will not be part of their official squad eligible to play.

Of course, Maharaj - who took 15 wickets from 13 matches in SA20 Season 2 - will be amongst familiar faces. Good friend Quinton de Kock (who he replaced as Durban's Suoer Giants captain this year) will be playing in his third IPL campaign for LSG, as will Kyle Mayers and Marcus Stoinis. Nicholas Pooran and Naveen-ul-Haq, who also played their part in helping DSG to this year's SA20 Final, will be aiming to go one better with LSG.

Then there's the LSG coaching staff, headed by Justin Langer and which includes the entire DSG hierarchy of Lance Klusener, Sridharam Sriram, Morne Morkel and Jonty Rhodes. Pravin Tambe, LSG's spin bowling consultant, will be a new face to Maharaj but one he will undoubtedly work closely with over the next two months.

LSG will begin their quest for the IPL 2024 title on 24 March away at inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals (who count Jos Buttler, Donovan Ferreira and Nandre Burger among their squad).

Maharaj will get his first taste of a home match BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on 30 March when LSG host Punjab Kings (featuring Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Kagiso Rabada, Rilee Rossouw).
