WHERE UNCAPPED DOESN'T GET THROTTLED...

Amongst the many positives Betway SA20 has brought to South African cricket, the springboard to higher honours must rank high.

From Matthew Breetzke to Nqaba Peter, Patrick Kruger to Corbin Bosch, and Ottneil Baartman to Dayyaan Galiem, each has used their opportunities in South Africa's premier T20 cricket league to prove their readiness for the Proteas national team.

As a result, uncapped South African players can head into Season 3 confident that a starring role will get rewarded.

Apart from the six Rookies (and two of the inaugural class, Peter and Andile Simelane went on to earn national caps last year), 20 other players are still chasing senior national recognition.

Among the 'seasoned' campaigners, Pretorius Capitals' Migael Pretorius earned a maiden call-up just six months ago for Tests in the West Indies, opening batter Marques Ackerman has earned a second bite at the SA20 cherry (also at Capitals) and MI Cape Town spinner Thomas Kaber proved in Season 2 that there is talent in South Africa's second division. Evan Jones, meanwhile, has swapped Paarl for Joburg, and who knows what the familiarity of his domestic home ground will do for his game.

Looking at the younger brigade, Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Dewan Marais (both Paarl Royals), Steve Stolk (Pretoria Capitals) and Tristan Luus (MI Cape Town) can only be motivated by seeing the rapid rise of Kwena Maphaka, their erstwhile SA Under-19 teammate.

Can last year's SA Under-19 stars, Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Dewan Marais, Steve Stolk and Tristan Luus make a big enough impression during Season 3 to make the senior national team selectors take notice?

The same can be said for Eathan Bosch watching big brother Corbin recently join their late father, Tertius, as a capped Proteas player. Speaking of siblings, Paarl Royals new recruit Rubin Hermann has seen baby brother Jordan win back-to-back SA20 gold medals but they're both uncapped, so there's still more bragging rights up for grabs. Then there's the Kings, JP and CJ, who were drafted as Season 3 Rookies by Joburg Super Kings and Durban's Super Giants respectively. They reconnected this season as teammates at domestic level but will now be in rival camps for the coming six weeks - where opportunities await.

So, who will make Season 3 count and remove their name from the list below next?
