HERMANN BROTHERS RELIVE BACK GARDEN MEMORIES WITH SMASHING TONS
If Rubin doesn’t get you, be sure Jordan will.
The Hermann brothers have formed a formidable pairing for South Africa ‘A’ in the on-going one-day series against their New Zealand counterparts in Benoni.
Rubin, who has been pre-signed by the Paarl Royals for Betway SA20 Season 4, has been in prolific form at Willowmoore Park.
The attacking left-hander blitzed a scintillating 158* off 93 balls in match one, showing off all the dynamism and intent that was evident in his debut SA20 season earlier this year when he finished as the competition’s fifth highest run-scorer with 333 runs at an average of 41.63.

“It’s difficult to put it into words how everything has actually worked out,” said Rubin, who was also capped for the Proteas at T20I level on the recent tour of Zimbabwe.
“I just try to stay present for as long as I can. And see how far I can go.”
Jordan, unfortunately, missed out in the series opener after being caught behind for a first-ball duck.
However, in the second match on Monday, the brothers relived all their years of batting together in the back garden, with a sensational 154-run second-wicket partnership that sealed the series for the hosts.
Rubin followed up his first-match century with another 109 off 98 balls (13 fours, 3 sixes), but it was Jordan that claimed the Player of the Match honours for his superb all-round performance.
The 23-year-old, who just misses the new under-23 player eligibility cut for Season 4, picked up 3/20 with the ball before guiding the home side to victory with a superb 101* off 105 balls (12 fours, 2 sixes).
“It’s null and void if you make a 100 in a losing cause. It means absolutely nothing. It’s not why you play the game,” said Jordan.
“So just proud I could take it all the way through. Clinching the series is very special. I’m just glad I could contribute.”
Jordan’s form will certainly have caught the attention of all six franchises heading into next Tuesday’s much-anticipated Betway Season 4 Player Auction in Johannesburg after he was released by the Sunrisers Eastern Cape after three seasons at St George’s Park.
The two-times champions still have a Right to Match (RTM) card if they wish to challenge a bid from an opposing franchise at the auction for Hermann.
