As League Ambassador and SuperSport commentator, De Villiers is uniquely placed to run the rule over the teams and it’s fair to say he’s intrigued by DSG’s Season 3 prospects.
“The key trends for this team will be playing at home and making Kingsmead and that wicket a fortress. Guys like Keshav Maharaj has played a lot of cricket there and will help his team adapt to the different styles of play they’ll want to adopt on a certain day at Kingsmead. The wicket is a touch slower there so you can get ahead of the game if you ‘box smart’ out there and I believe Keshav and his troops will do exactly that this coming season,” says De Villiers.
“They came close last season, losing out in the Final against Sunrisers Eastern Cape at Newlands, but this coming season is a fresh start for Keshav Maharaj and his troops of Durban’s Super Giants and I’m expecting again a wonderful season for them.”
