Heinrich Klaasen 74 off 30 balls
Durban’s Super Giants’ v Joburg Super Kings Qualifier 2 at Wanderers
At the conclusion of the competition Heinrich Klaasen was named the undisputed Betway SA20 Season MVP. Klaasen played exceptional innings’ throughout the competition, but he kept his best for the playoff against Joburg Super Kings to power Durban’s Super Giants into their first-ever Betway SA20 Final. Klaasen tore into leg-spinner Imran Tahir with the veteran conceding a game-changing 29 runs in the 15th over. Klaasen smashed three sixes and a boundary during that over. And just to show it was no fluke he repeated the act against Sam Cook by blasting another three consecutive sixes off the English seamer. It was power-hitting at its most destructive best.
Donovan Ferreira 50 off 18 balls
Joburg Super Kings v Pretoria Capitals at Wanderers
“The Don” Ferreira graduated from a Season 1 Rising Star to a genuine match-winner in Season 2. His power-hitting was elevated to a new level when he smashed the fastest half-century in Betway SA20 history off just 18 balls in “The Big City Derby” against Pretoria Capitals. Ferreira dished out the most punishment to Jimmy Neasham with the New Zealander conceding two sixes and three boundaries in the all-rounder's death-overs spell.
Ryan Rickelton 90 off 45 balls
MI Cape Town v Pretoria Capitals at Centurion
The competition’s leading run-scorer Ryan Rickelton virtually played a lone hand to keep MI Cape Town afloat. His 45-ball 90 was another exhibition of power hitting and placement as he thrilled the Centurion crowd with his audacious strokeplay.
Jos Buttler 70* off 37 balls
Paarl Royals v Joburg Super Kings at Boland Park
The England captain had practised his range-hitting before the game and it certainly paid dividends in this clash. Buttler was superb on a difficult wicket as he guided the Royals home in emphatic fashion.
Will Jacks 101 off 42 balls
Pretoria Capitals v Durban's Super Giants at Centurion
Jacks has a love affair with Centurion like few others. And here he was at his belligerent best by smashing the Betway SA20 fastest century off just 41 balls. It included nine sixes and eight boundaries.
Marco Jansen 71* off 31 balls
Sunrisers Eastern Cape v Paarl Royals at Boland Park
In both seasons Marco Jansen has delivered match-winning innings with the bat for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. In Season 1, Jansen climbed into Rashid Khan and the rest of the MI Cape Town bowlers. In Season 2, it was the Royals that felt the full brunt of the lanky all-rounder’s power-hitting abilities. After being promoted to No 4 on a sluggish Paarl surface, Jansen assessed the conditions early on before exploding in thrilling fashion.
