BETWAY SA20 AND RAIN CONNECT FOR SEASON 4

Betway SA20 Season 4 promises to be a landmark affair as rain, the first mobile-only 4G and 5G data network service in South Africa, continues its dynamic partnership with the premier T20 cricket league in the country.

Doug Worth, Head of Cricket Sponsorship at rain, shared his enthusiasm about what lies ahead for this collaboration, which has flourished since the inception of Betway SA20 three years ago due to their core values and beliefs - speed, connectivity, and community - all being closely aligned. 

"Betway SA20 not only has revived cricket for South Africa and South Africans, it's put South African cricketers back on the map, and with us being a partner for that, it's also given us the accessibility and springboard to use our brand to be part of such a strong and creditable brand as SA20,” Worth said. 

“We're very excited to see what the new season brings, and for us to be partnered with such an exceptional brand, Graeme [Smith] and his team, putting cricket back on the map in South Africa, is very exciting.”

rain have delivered popular activations such as the "rain Play of the Day" and "rain Played Like a Pro", as well as data give-aways and in-stadium mobile WIFI hotspot stations over the past three seasons.

Worth confirmed rain are looking to ramp it up even further in Season 4 with the focus not only on enhancing the in-stadium experience but also on innovating how fans engage with the sport from the comfort of their homes.

"This year, we are launching our at-home campaign, which utilises the Pro Router 101 to ensure seamless connectivity at home, while also introducing our away loop to offer Wi-Fi and entertainment for those attending games," Worth explained.

He further emphasised rain’s involvement includes diverse activities designed to promote inclusion and interaction for both children and adults with the return of the rain Go-Getters - the designated kids' activation areas behind the stands which allow children to enjoy fun activities while families come together to revel in the festive atmosphere of cricket.

"It is not only about cricket and connectivity but also about enabling young kids and adults to come together and enjoy our products," Worth said.

Betway SA20 Season 4 gets underway on 26 December 2025, when defending champions MI Cape Town host Durban’s Super Giants at Newlands in Cape Town.
