PRETORIA CAPITALS' ADIL RASHID TO END YEAR AS WORLD'S BEST T20I BOWLER
Pretoria Capitals' Adil Rashid has moved up two slots to grab the number one position in the ICC Men's IT20 Play Rankings - meaning the English leg-spinner will see out the year at the top of the tree.
The 35-year-old is being rewarded for consistent performances in England's exciting five-match series against the West Indies, during which he claimed nine wickets. Rashid claimed 14 wickets during the inaugural season of Betway SA20, when Capitals finished as runners-up.
Rashid was a popular and successful player for Pretoria Capitals during Betway SA20 Season 1.
This is the first time Rashid has moved into top spot of the international rankings in his career, moving past MI Cape Town's captain Rashid Khan (Afghanistan) and India's Ravi Bishnoi.
Rashid’s previous best was second position that he last occupied in September 2023.
Khan has dropped down to 3rd in the rankings, while fellow League players Tabraiz Shamsi (Paarl Royals - 9th) and Reece Topley (Durban's Super Giants - 10th) feature in the top 10 of the rankings.
