Welcome to St George's Park

Welcome to St George’s Park. Where orange is a fashion statement. Where the brass band brings the vibe. Where Stubbs is the captain. Where Marco puts on a show. Where Anrich, Matthew and Lutho feel home comforts. Where three-time champions call home.

St George’s Park, located in central Gqeberha, is by virtue of being established in 1882 South Africa’s oldest international cricket ground – but it’s by no means stuck in the past. Yes, it has retained much of its old charm and legacy but it was also the first Test cricket ground in the world to operate an LED floodlight system.

St George's Park, home of Sunrisers Eastern Cape

In the Betway SA20 era, St George’s is home to the Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

They are backed by a loyal fanbase, dubbed the Orange Army, who make the atmosphere both relaxed but passionate. The most passionate choose the ground’s Old Stand to watch the action from, perched on unreserved wooden seats, with the iconic brass band bring the venue to life.

Families after a more relaxed setting should choose the grass embankment, beginning underneath scoreboard and wrapping around in front of the Duckpond Pavilion. The zone provides ample space for kids to set up their own mini-bat vs ball contests while cheering their heroes.

Those after seats, shade and some calm have the options of the Duckpond terrace or top tier for a behind-the-bowler’s-arm view or side-on options or the Long Room or Crusaders Club to watch the action unfold from side-on. Food and beverage options are largely on this western side of the ground too.

Stay tuned to find out what Sunrisers Eastern Cape and St George's Park have in store for fans in Betway SA20 Season 5.

DID YOU KNOW? The best Betway SA20 bowling spell took place at St George's Park in Season 1 when Roelof van der Merwe claimed 6/20 against Durban's Super Giants.
