VIEW: Season 5 Fixtures

Kingsmead, established 102 years ago and located on the edge of the Durban central business district, remains one of South Africa’s most iconic sporting venues. It has a unique combination of hot, humid weather and its proximity to the sea is said to help swing bowlers when the tide comes in. A vibrant atmosphere for thrilling matches.

The League’s first successful Betway Catch R2-Million one-hander took place here (in a VIP suite rather than the large grass embankment in front of the East Stand!) and Kingsmead has become synonymous with sixes – often off Heinrich Klaasen’s bat - soaring over the West Stand and bouncing across Samora Machel Street towards the Old Fort…

Any and all fans are catered for.

For families, the best places to sit are the more relaxed areas, particularly in the East Stand where on the grandstand or expansive grass embankment is perfect West and North stands. These sections are comfortable, offering a great view of the action while avoiding the direct sunlight. Families can enjoy a leisurely experience, with plenty of space for kids to move around while still being able to see the game up close. For students or younger fans, the Eastern side of the ground offers a livelier atmosphere, being closer to the action and often filled with passionate supporters. Food and drink options are also plentiful, particularly behind the East Stand and the North Pavilion.
