BETWAY SA20 STARS SHINE IN FINAL ROUND OF CSA T20 CHALLENGE
The Cricket South Africa (CSA) T20 Challenge group stages reached an exciting conclusion on Sunday.
There was still plenty to play for with the top spot on the log, home semi-final advantage and the fourth and final playoff spot all up for grabs.
Ultimately, the Lions secured first place on the log due to an unbeaten half-century from MI Cape Town batter Rassie van der Dussen to guide them to a comfortable seven-wicket victory.
Paarl Royals rookie leg-spinner Nqaba Peter (3/15) furthermore enhanced his growing reputation with another skillful bowling performance for the Lions.
Down in Gqeberha, the Dolphins were inspired by a career-best five-wicket haul from Pretoria Capitals seamer Daryn Dupavillon as his 5/20 skittled the Warriors.
Only Sunrisers Eastern Cape top-order batter Jordan Hermann made any sort of impact on the scoreboard with 68 off 53 balls to help the Warriors to 130/8.

Jordan Hermann's 68 was the highest score in the final round of CSA T20 Challenge group stage action.
Durban’s Super Giants duo Jon-Jon Smuts (43 not out) and Jason Smith (41 not out) ensured that the Dolphins will be hosting their semi-final at Kingsmead against the self-same Warriors later this week.
At Newlands, the Titans and Western Province were involved in a winner-takes-all clash to determine which team would advance to the semi-finals.
Ultimately, it was the Titans that cruised past WP by six wickets to clinch fourth spot on the table.
It was Durban's Super Giants seamer Junior Dala (3/13) and fellow Pretoria Capitals paceman Corbin Bosch (3/21) that inflicted the damage as WP were restricted to a paltry 113/9 in their allotted 20 overs.
WP captain and holder of the highest score in Betway 20 history Kyle Verreynne was the lone run-scorer for the home team with 48 off 31 balls.
The paltry target was no contest for the Titans with another Paarl Royals rookie Lhuan-dre Pretorius striking a fluent 52 off 34 balls (3x4, 4x6) to keep the defending champions hopes alive.
