BATTER OF THE SEASON RANKINGS
Betway SA20 have partnered with cricket’s leading analytics specialists, CricViz, to use their unique Most Valuable Player (MVP) data science model to help choose the end-of-season individual awards - including the Batter of the Season award.
The CricViz MVP model is a performance evaluation measure that is used to assess the performance of players across a match and competition. MVP allows us to compare the performance of players across different roles and phases of the game – in this case batting. Additionally, players are rewarded for winning the match, with the captain of the winning team receiving an additional bonus.
The model runs calculations on every delivery which produces an MVP score for an individual match and across a whole competition too. Below is the leaderboard for Batter of the Season – it will automatically update after every match.
